Staff Sgt. Rodney Ridgeway enlisted in the U.S. Army one month before 9/11. In 2012, he returned home from his third deployment to Iraq with severe PTSD, traumatic brain injury and other invisible wounds. His mother, Ida Carson, serves as his caregiver and biggest advocate. Now an Elizabeth Dole Foundation fellow, she works tirelessly to ensure resources and tools are available to all veterans, their families and friends.
