Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA) prohibits employers from discriminating against individuals that are 40 years or older. Employers cannot discriminate against employees in their hiring, firing, promotion, training, and benefit compensations based on age. If you think you are a victim of age discrimination, you should first keep a record, report it to the HR department of your company, while consulting and hiring a lawyer to file a complaint to the related state department and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). To protect yourself from age discrimination, keep your skills and knowledge up to date, maintain your performance at work, network within your company, and actively participate in affinity groups or organizations in your company.
